130819  Monday
This going to the beach mornings starts to become routine. Same today. Weather was nice and people already in the waves. They were larger today then I´ve seen them before.
After breakfast I was going to take the bus and meet my daughter and grandson at The Bishop Museum on the other side of town. That turned out not to be that easy even though I checked the maps and thought the agreed meeting place was clear. Well, I thought we should meet at the crossing where the bus turned but no one was there.  Then I took the next bus again and found them waiting at the Museum bus stop.
The Museum was about the culture and history of Oahu and Hawaiian islands. And also a science part for the volcanic history and workings as well as plants and animals. It was an interesting visit even if the opportunity for photography was limited or not allowed in most areas. But in the scientific areas I took some shots.

Colorful pathway to the volcano eruption.

When I returned to the hostel the room was a real mess and a man spraying parts of it. Two of the beds was cleared and moved and sprayed. Luckily mine was not touched. When I asked what the fuss was all about they said they had spotted some bugs. Flat, red bloodsucking things, Bedbugs to be exact. Nasty creatures sucking your blood. Don´t sound like fun. I found it best to change my bedding's too.
Then I went down to the beach again to play around a bit in the waves. Then grabbed something to eat and enjoyed the darkening city where sunlight was replaced by streetlight and fire torches. The image below was quite fun to catch and I made some people wondering what I was doing. It was almost a full moon and the heat of the fire, in the torches, kind of melted the moon. The blue thing is light around the trunk of a palm tree.

130816 Beach and shopping day

130816 Friday
I woke up at 3 as Linus started to move in the bed below me.  He is going to Big Island and has to catch an early flight.
I slept another 2 h and then went up to be an "early bird" at the beach. It was mostly clouds and the sun behind the mountain range of course. But there was fairly much people up to watch it. Some already surfing.
Lots of the homeless was sleeping close to the sanitary facilities at the beach. Think it was good somehow, They could stay clean and go to the bathroom. They did not disturb anyone other then they kept their stuff around. There is also a lot of activities on the beach. People having meetings and gym sessions and running like crazy.
At breakfast I saw a one of the doves landing on jars happily eating from whatever was in them.
After breakfast it was time to take the bus to Bishop Street to meet with the family. There was a little misunderstanding. I thought we were going to the beach but ended up shopping. The beach would be later on in the afternoon. We was shopping at the University at first. I found a nice backpack in rainbow colors. But the family screamed NO, you can´t buy that one. When I wondered why they said everybody will believe you are a homosexual! O, gosh, I´m old. To me the rainbow symbol is still Greenpeace!
Then my granddaughter went to her class and the rest of us headed for Ala Moana to keep shopping. They seem to like it.
Finished with shopping time was rather late but we located the Ala Moana Beach Park and checked it out. It was sandy and hot with no shadows so not a place for me really. Nowadays I like shadows.

Ala Moana Beach Park

Back at the Hostel I grabbed my things and went swimming on Queens Beach. As it is so close I only bring the most necessary items with me. The towel, key and the little camera for sunset shots. The place is good for sunset shots. Then I had to do some shopping and find something to eat.
Family fun to the left! But not my family.

Linus is back from Big Island and obviously had a great time. He was able to walk down into the crater of the volcano so he was quite happy.

I was writing on the computer when people started to arrive and suddenly it turned out to be a beer party in the room. I did not mind but did not join in as much either. They were mainly discussing politics and that is not my favourite topic.

121122 Morocco Day 13 Thursday, Guelmim - Agadir

Woke up at 5.30 and waited a while before going up. I was a bit shocked about sleeping with the computer in my knee yesterday evening. Guess I´m really tired right now.

Well, Anders had asked for breakfast at 6 but the staff did not arrive before 6 so it took a long while before we got our breakfast. I think hotel staff promise things they really shouldn´t and the kitchen staff work as usual not knowing there was a promise to fulfil. Todays departure was at 7.05 instead of 6.30. Not much of a breakfast at that hotel, coffee and croisants that was all. No bread and no juice or anything. Hard to get filled on that menue. But we managed. At least the breakfast room was great. I loved the tables.

We headed north again with Agadir as end location. We passed the mountains where the truck had overturned on our way south. It is quite a scary road. Really alpine way. One has to be glad it is not a slippery winter road. :)

We went to Oued Massa again. It is quite a nice place. This time we had clear orders not to shoot people. To bad as I spotted a young woman on a donkey and she was gorgeous. But I´d let her be. Not too many birds this time but a night heron was one of them and a 1k Bonelli´s Eagle (hökörn). A great one indeed.

Dadel palm I think.

After Massa we went to the north side of Agadir. There was a Nature reserve where the Royal Palace is located but we was not allowed to enter it so we stayed at the coastal line. It was tricky to bird as we had backlight. The entire bay was shining in silver. With black birds in it. Mostly flamingos and ducks. At this location we also spotted the blue eyed magpie. It was such a beauty I really was regretting we did not see it up close.

We arrived at Oasis Hotel around 16.10 so there was lots of time before we met again for the species list and dinner. I went down to the beach and had a lot of fun. It is a large beach. Some waves came further in to the beach then expected so I got my pants wet. And very sandy feet. But so what. It was fun. But I never saw the .....

I was back at the hotel in time for a shower before our artlist meeting. At dinner I sat with Ewa and Bo and shared a bottle of Moroccan wine with them. It was really good. The dinner at this hotel is special. So many great stuff in the buffé to choose from and so nicely served.
Now I will soon go back to the room and upload my shots for today and to see what my balcony view can offer me.
Tomorrow is a sleeping morning. The breakfast is served at 6.00 and forward and the boat company will pick us up at 9.00 h. Our bags will stay in a locked room at the hotel during the day.
