Todays program:
5.30 is the time for those early birders. There was an aditional birding at the Saltinen again. The suitcases should be at the veranda so the driver can start packing.
After breakfast we are heading for Villa Lapas.

NF Photo 110204 at 5.50 in the morning. Here are the only Roseate spoonbills I got a shot on.

There were a slight change in the program. We started early for an aditional study of the bird fauna at the Saltines. It was nice.

After breakfast we continued to Ortina where we were supposed to check out an owl in the middle of the town. Well, the owl was not there, but the guy who was supposed to fix the second puncture was. He brought replacement tires for Carlos. I walked around and took pics of beautiful tree flowers and a "sengångare" high up in the trees. I also bought myself an icecream. Later I found out that the flower was CALLIANDRA HAEMATOCEPHALA - Red Powder Puff flower

We arrived at Villa Lapas at noon and we got our rooms even though we were early. As we did not have the lunch paket from Ensenada as we should have we had lunch at Villa Lapas instead. It ws a nice dinner setting. :)

After lunch we went to a hanging bridge tour but it was pretty short as we were to go on a boat tour at 15.00h. We were going with Jose´s crocodile river tour on Tarcoles River. But we concentrated mostly at birds. And that was really fun. We saw lots of great birds and the nice weather did not make it any worse. The first fun was the swallows. They followed the boat. A little like the playful dolphins. After a while I discovered a nest in the rear of the boat. No wonder why they were circling the boat. :)

Little Blue Heron and Great Egret

We encountered a lots of nice birds, among them Turquoise-browed Motmot that became my first blog species. Ducks, herons, thickknees, birds of prey, Scarlet Macaws, see photo,  and a lot of others. Have to check the list. We also spotted some crocks. To some peoples delight.

The last part of the tour was in the mangrove areas. And then there were a lot of those tiny, black, biting things. People started to ad protection on and put on all long sleeves they had. There were something we were looking at. But for now I don´t remember what.

We were back for dinner at 19.30. On this hotell it is "all inclusive" so most people had wine for dinner. And a whisky on the rocks after that. Then we had to check put the tiny green frogs before going through todays spieces list in the open lobby.

Sadly I can´t get the internet to work.
